Recognition for continued innovation and support of Playtech’s industry-leading products

London: October 20th 2017 – William Hill and Gala Bingo have won the first two Playtech Awards of 2017 for marketing excellence and innovation of Playtech’s industry-leading products.

The Playtech Award scheme is comprised of three seasonal awards; Spring, Autumn and Winter in addition to an annual award, with all winners decided by an internal Playtech judging panel.

William Hill won the Spring Playtech Award for its success in integrating and launching the Playtech Single Wallet across its sports and casino products and across all channels, enabling players to experience a single, seamless balance and significantly improving cross-sell and the overall customer journey.

Its UK TV campaign that promoted Playtech Casino one week after the launch of its new single wallet resulted in a significant uplift in Net Gaming Revenues (NGR) and saw active players increase substantially between February and June this year.

The judging panel recognised William Hill’s achievements due to its “close collaboration with the Playtech Projects team at a key stage in development” and its ability to “successfully cross-sell its products using its new Playtech Single Wallet”. In winning the award, William Hill will receive the top prize of a luxury pamper day out, courtesy of Playtech.

A ‘Highly Commended’ award was given to Playtech licensee Veikkaus. The panel found the operator had worked closely with its Playtech account and projects teams to create a seamless omni-channel launch for Playtech’s popular slot game White King. The judges called this “an excellent example of how to succeed within a challenging regulatory framework”.

In September this year, Gala Bingo won this year’s Autumn Playtech Award for the success of its innovative Cashpot games suite with enhanced jackpot functionality.

Following in-depth player feedback, Gala worked closely with Playtech to develop the operator’s Cashpot games portfolio at the end of last year, which combines popular game engines with an innovative new jackpot mechanism. Rather than triggering on a reel set criteria, the jackpot is instead triggered by player stakes over time, meaning that the more time that passes, the more likely the jackpot will be triggered.

Cashpot Slot, launched in December 2016, was the first game in the series and remains Gala Bingo’s most popular Playtech slot.

The internal Playtech judging panel said Gala’s proven jackpot retention mechanism “has helped to keep players engaged” and that it has a continued commitment to “guaranteeing a winning experience everyday”.

As a reward for winning the top prize, Gala Bingo will receive a premium gadget hamper from Playtech.

A ‘Highly Commended’ award was given to Playtech licensees Boylesports and William Hill for Boylesports’ release of a new casino front-end that has witnessed exceptional results, and William Hill’s work with Playtech’s BI team to create an innovative jackpot platform solution.

Ishai Amit, Head of Casino & Poker, William Hill, said: “We’re delighted to win the Playtech Award. We work closely with the team there and this year has been pivotal in developing and deploying our single wallet solution which, thanks to close collaboration and hard work on both sides, has gone to plan.”

Angus Nisbet, Brand Director, Gala Bingo, said:“Cashpot games have been a great success and the team at Playtech have contributed a great deal to this. We have a great relationship and winning the latest Playtech Award is recognition of everyone’s efforts and achievements in the last year.”

Shimon Akad, COO, Playtech, said: “This initiative has worked extremely well with all our licensees eager to take part and showcase the innovative ways in which they market our industry-leading products.

“We’re delighted that Gala Bingo and William Hill have won this year’s second and first Playtech Awards. We pride ourselves on creating and delivering best-performing leading technology and great customer service, and work closely in partnership with all our licensees to build the best offering. I’d like to thank them for their continued support,” Akad added.
