About the Role

The Commercial Director – UK, Ire & Australia’s core responsibilities are to maximize the financial performance of all Playtech BGT Sports (“PBS”) products within an agreed group of UK and Irish customer’s estate, and acquire new deals in Australia. This is achieved through both strategic planning and implementation alongside ongoing tactical executions. A key aim is to influence the ways of working displayed by the customer and to establish best practice by combining the knowledge and skillsets of the two companies.

This position is responsible for increasing and managing the revenue from a portfolio of key account bookmakers on a day to day operational basis through to delivering effective key account strategic leadership to support the overall business growth and plans. This position will also be responsible for sales in Australia and subsequent management of a portfolio of key accounts in Australia.

The main duties and responsibilities in this role will include, but are not limited to: -

  • Actively work with Executive Team members and Managing Director to devise and implement strategic business plans which maximize revenues for PBS through existing and new PBS Client agreements
  • Build and maintain strong internal relationships by regular contact with key players and influencers including Board and Executive members
  • Product expert on all Playtech BGT Sports products thereby ensuring full customer utilization of the product to maximize revenues and effective up-sell of new PBS products
  • Principal point of contact for nominated customers, acting as a ‘consultant’ style product expert to build strong relationships with all PBS Client stakeholders (not least operations, trading and marketing functions) through regular contact. This will involve senior PBS Client stakeholder meetings to influence functional strategies
  • Respond to internal and external requests in a professional manner demonstrating exceptional customer service
  • Lead and manage all bespoke customer development roadmaps via effective working relationships with Austrian development team
  • Identify business opportunities in Australia and work with PBS internal stakeholders to prepare PBS products fit for the Australian market - including the adaption of PBS’s existing horse racing product for the Australian market
  • Bachelor Degree in business related discipline
  • Proven key account management experience operating on a strategic and day to day operational basis demonstrating strong leadership skills
  • Experience of working with a number of key UK and Irish LBO/Digital Retailers and a strong reputation generated from a track record of delivery
  • Knowledge and experience working in the British and Australian sports betting industry combined with knowledge of digital and retail sports betting competitors
  • Proven experience working in a sales / commercial role with a strong ability to work at a day to day level through to operating at a strategic level
  • Must be able to travel and spend long periods of time away from the UK
  • Excellent communication and customer liaison skills
  • Computer literacy ideally proficient using Microsoft Office
  • Knowledge of the SSBT supplier and service market
  • Existing knowledge of Playtech BGT Sports products
  • Analytical skills including strong proficiency in Excel
  • Knowledge of the Australian horse racing product
